“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” __C.S. Lewis
March 20: The Sun enters Aries
The Sun enters Aries, an event that marks the Spring Equinox for those above the equator, and the Autumnal Equinox for those below. Each year at this time, we begin a new season and a new journey. It’s time to take action! Begin something, whether you want to start a business, embark on a different career path or simply turn over a new leaf. If you can draw on the courageous and pioneering attributes of this sign, you’ll have everything you need to make a fresh start!
So think about what you want to begin and Go for It! Now is the time to Dream.
‘Take what shows up on your plate
and transform it until it feeds you.’
— Ram Dass
Spring is not too far away and the snow has melted…the days are getting longer…and people are coming out into the light and smiling more. Our surroundings are being transformed.
Doing a bit of transforming on the Clara Cloth .
Jude’s eyes have inspired me to put an eye in this…maybe a portal from another time?
“There are as many different worlds as there are perceivers or Beings or individuals. You are not here to create one world where everyone is the same, wanting and getting the same. You are here to be that which you want to be, while you allow all others to be that which they want to be.”
I’ve done a bit of patching and mending on this cloth. The background has been distressed with inks, paint, coffee, tea, wine, and even a bit of chocolate smudged in.
Next…….I will stitch many stitches to give this cloth Life…It’s off to a good start.
Jude’s Boro Weaving class has come to an end. Now I will continue to work on the dozen or so pieces that I have started. Some will be put into large bed sized quilts…others will be wall hangings, pillow covers, a jacket and a clutch. I have even started a stuffed beast!
So now that Spring is around the corner…let’s celebrate beginnings…and continuings.
- We have many layers, may shades, many moods.. fascinating creatures we are, with oceans inside of us and many poems waiting to be awakened from their deep slumbers.
Till next time….Shishi
Live close to the earth and clear down to your heart.
Everything has rusted up nicely! I’ll be draping cloth on them for some nice staining effects. Some of the gals in my Boro Weaving class are into Eco-dying…using nature elements to dye cloth. They are getting great results so I’m going to give it a try.
I want to dye some muslin…and put it in the white area of this cloth to give it an old, distressed look.
- Once the background is pinned I can start the stitching. This would look great on a pillow…or the back of a jacket.
